I made some changes to this kit. The electrical power box was designed to be hidden under the bed, but that meant I would have to remove the dust cover and lift the bed every time I wanted to turn on the lights. Instead, I ran the wiring outside so I could hide the power box under the custom base.
These power boxes use AA or AAA batteries, depending on the model. This is convenient if you have just one kit. However, if you start collecting more kits, you may not use them frequently, which could lead to battery leakage and damage. Therefore, it's best to remove the batteries from the power box if you don't plan to use the lights often. You don't need to use the provided wiring to electrify your kit. You can instead use a spotlight or LED lighting strips.
I always add felt pads to the bottom to prevent scratching the furniture.
I am not good at sewing, and I struggle with fabric. Surprisingly, these kits are forgiving, and my bed turned out quite well despite my sewing difficulties. Once again, hot glue came to the rescue.
