It’s time to wire the dollhouse and attach all the light fixtures in their designated spots. This task is challenging and will likely take several days. Keeping the wires tidy is difficult, so do your best. I used clear packing tape to hold mine down, as it seems to be the only tape that works effectively. I also used it to attach the light fixtures to the ceilings.
Since these dollhouses don’t include molding to conceal wires, you’ll need to follow the wiring map, though it’s not very clear on how the wires should be routed. Despite my efforts, the wires still look messy, but I’m hopeful that furniture and accessories will help hide them as the project progresses.
Here’s a key recommendation - wire the dollhouse before installing the staircase. While the wires won’t interfere with staircase placement, the staircase can make wire placement much harder. The staircases are fragile, and maneuvering around them to thread wires is tricky. If there’s one step to deviate from the instructions, this is it.
Half of the light fixtures connect to one transformer, and the other half to the second. It doesn’t matter which goes where, as long as you connect four fixtures to one transformer and five to the other. Figuring out which wire belongs to which fixture after threading them through multiple holes can be tricky, but luckily, it doesn’t matter. Just ensure the gray wires connect to the black transformer wire and the white wires to the red.
I am thankful that all of my lights work.
