Fairy Tale Homestead Day 26

Today, I'm working on the flower boxes. The kit is quite stingy with materials. Most of the corrugated paper was used for the columns, leaving just enough for these long flower boxes.

If you run out of this material, you can find similar scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby and paint it white. Alternatively, you might be able to get some from your local Panera Bread cafe; they use white corrugated paper to warm sandwiches. Dunkin' Donuts also uses this type of paper.

For this project, you'll need to work with wire again to make 18 identical small brackets that are as uniform as possible. This is not an easy task and might take you a few days to complete as it did me. I ran out of the kit's wire but luckily had my own spare black wire on hand. This wire can be found in the jewelry aisle of craft stores.

To break the tedious monotony of creating the wire brackets, I went ahead and created the two rugs and a potted topiary.

I then added all the assembled accessories to the front panel, including the finished flower boxes. However, I did not place the plant stand on the front porch as instructed. Instead, I put it on the top balcony because the rug didn't allow enough space for it on the porch. I also changed the placement of the hanging plant to make room for the plant stand.

Since these are handmade items with non-exact measurements, slight adjustments in arrangement may be necessary to maintain aesthetics. Although the kit's assembly process doesn't offer much flexibility, small changes can be made as long as they don't interfere with other elements.
