Today,
I assembled the kitchen, and fortunately, its placement conceals most
of the wiring mess in the corner. The kitchen fits under the window and
in front of the hinged panel, but remember not to glue it to the
wall—only to the floor—to avoid accidentally gluing the hinged panel.
I placed many finished items on the kitchen counter. This kitchen
is adorable, complete with a photo of a chicken in the oven window, and
all the cabinet handles are made of white wire. The little book stand is
perfect for holding the cookbook open on the counter.
I still have the skylight clamped because it was warped, and
straightening it takes longer due to the thicker wood. I had to apply
more glue to it.
I was unhappy with how my dollhouse base turned out. The paper
covering needs to be folded over the edges, but it’s glossy and turns
white at the folds. It’s not very durable, as any scratch or crease
easily removes the ink. By the time I finished covering the base, it
looked messy, and I was extremely disappointed.
To fix this, I used acrylic paints to match the brick color of the
paper. This allowed me to touch up every crease, fold, and uncovered
edge on the base, and it turned out wonderfully. Now I am finally
satisfied with it.
