The staircase railings, that go along the floor edges, are challenging to assemble. To achieve the desired appearance, carefully follow the instruction photos and disregard the spacing measurements. If you use the measurements, the railings won't match the photos, indicating they are incorrect. Instead, follow the photos and use a cutting mat to achieve the correct spacing. The railings seem not to be designed for uniform spacing as each one is spaced differently.
You can then position the railings around the floor edges, as instructed.
