Now that both front panels are complete, I need to hinge them. The kit hinges work this time, but there are still challenges.
The first issue is potential wood splitting when applying hinges to the panel's side edge. If splitting occurs, reinforce it with glue, let it dry, and conceal it with matching paint. Sometimes the split will shift your hinges. Accept slightly crooked hinges to avoid worsening splits, as this won't affect panel operation. Luckily, only one of my hinges had this issue.
The second problem is the lack of a wiring map in the kit's instructions. for the exterior lamps. Without guidance on how to run wires to the transformers, I've left them hanging on the dollhouse's interior for now. It's unclear whether they should run through the interior or exterior, but this will be resolved in future steps. The hinged panels don't interfere with the wires, even if run through the exterior.
