Provence Lavender Dollhouse Day 15

Now we are starting to get to the nitty gritty.

One of the dollhouse walls has to be finished with wallpaper and lighting.

Usually, if you are going to electrify a dollhouse, you will want to use wallpapered templates that can be easily removed for access to wiring later, but it's not going to be possible at this scale or this type of build. So, you will have to wallpaper over your wiring. The hard wire, though, is much more reliable and long lasting, so you shouldn't have issues.

The walls are already grooved for the wire. I used clear packing tape to hold the wire firmly, into the groove, and then applied the wallpaper over it.

If you don't want to take the chances and wish to not wire the dollhouse, you don't have to. All of the lamps and chandeliers can still be used without wiring and you can find an alternative lighting method later. You would probably be better off. But, I'm assembling the kit as specified for the purpose of demonstration.

After the wallpaper is applied, the window is inserted. It goes right into the window opening, without an issue.

Everything so far was easy, but the curtains, for some reason, were a little difficult. I think it had to do with the mismatched photos in the instructions. The placement was not very clear. I figured it out in the end, but had to use extra trim in the bottom and sides to hide the cutting mistakes.
